I recently inked Pia Guerra’s pencils for Hellblazer #6! It was just like the old Y: The Last Man days! The script was by Simon Oliver.
It’s on sale now.
“Where is the Vertigo logo!?!?” She asked nicely.
It’s now official!
I’ll be inking Dalibor Talajic’s pencils on the new Foolkiller series for Marvel. The series will be written by Max Bemis. The covers will be by Dave Johnson. It’s going to be a fun ride of a book! Not sure when the first issue ships, but expect it some time in the fall.
Here’s an interview with Max Bemis at Comic Book Resources.
I haven’t posted to the blog in quite a while. Been busy working on various projects and dealing with the usual life and family stuff.
So anyway, here’s Red Wolf #4, the most recent issue of the Marvel series. I have done all the issues in this latest run, I’ve just been negligent in posting about them.
Story by Nathan Edmondson; art by Dalibor Talajic and Jose Marzan Jr.; color by Miroslav Mrva.
I recently inked this piece over Jim Lee pencils (over blueline). This was my first time inking Jim’s pencils, and it was fun and exciting knowing that many other inkers would be inking the same image for a charity auction.
It’s for the Joe Sinnott Inking Challenge Spotlight on Jim Lee project sponsored by the non-profit Inkwell Awards, which is supported by Jim and DC Comics. The donated original art pages, signed by Jim and all of the inkers (including myself), will start being auctioned for fundraising in late February on eBay. When the auction goes live, I’ll post the information.
In April, I will be running the Star Wars Half Marathon -Dark Side, and the Star Wars 10k at Walt Disney World in Florida. I am running in support of Autism Speaks.
Perhaps I can ask you for a contribution of $13 for the half marathon? $6 for the 10k? Or $19 for both? Whatever you can afford would be greatly appreciated. You can make an online contribution here http://events.autismspeaks.org/starwarsdarkside/jmarzanjr
More information can be found at the Team Up Autism Speaks Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side page
Thank you for supporting me on this endeavor, and Autism Speaks.
More of what I’ve been busy working on! On Sale now!
Extra-sized issue #2 includes a sneak peek at what’s coming up in the DC Universe!
Written by Fabian Nicieza, pencils by Ron Wagner, inks by me!
Haven’t posted in a while. Here’s what I’ve been busy on… On sale now!
STARRING HEROES FROM ZERO HOUR! Superboy and Kingdom Come Superman face off over Metropolis – but can these two find a way to work together and save both their worlds?
Written by Fabian Nicieza, pencils by Karl Moline and inks by me!
I started with DC while they were still at 666 Fifth Ave, saw 1325 Ave. of the Americas and finally 1700 Broadway. I only lived a few miles away, so I was a regular fixture up there. I’d drop off and pick up work, get assignments, go to lunch with editors, eat at the cafeteria with assistants and editorial personal, hang out in the office waiting for folks to finish work so we could go to the movies, etc., etc.
I was there so often that one staffer actually asked me where my office was. Editorial wondered how I got any work done since I was always in the office.
One blistering summer, I would go into the office (at 1325) at 8:30AM and do my work in a spare room they had set up for misc production work. Hey, they had AC, I didn’t!
It’s gonna feel strange going into Manhattan and not be able to drop by and see friends.
A few pages from Supergirl #34, done last Summer. Pencils by Karl Moline.
